As we finish another cold winter

I am really looking forward to spring. Although my favorite time of year is the fall, with cool crisp mornings and warm afternoons (not to mention the beautiful colors of the changing leaves), the older I get the more I can’t wait for spring. The days get longer and start to get warmer, but what I really enjoy about spring is the new growth we see: flowers popping up, trees budding, grass turning green, and hearing the birds sing—that is what I think of when I hear spring is in the air. And after being closed for the winter, opening your windows in the springtime is a literal breath of fresh air!

I was thinking the other day about all the new growth and continued growth that happens in the springtime and I couldn’t help but think about spiritual growth. I think we all need a little boost or refreshing occasionally. I don’t know about you, but I know for me, sometimes my spiritual walk needs to be renewed or refreshed, if you will. As I pondered this thought I came across Psalm 51:10.

It says,

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Maybe you can relate, but there are days that I spend time with God but am just going through the motions. After reading this scripture again I realized I need to pray this verse and apply it in order to have a fresh new spring in my spiritual life. If we truly will refresh our spiritual walk with God then, the way there is renewed life in the spring season, I believe that we will be blessed and feel alive and excited to serve Him.

I pray that you all enjoy this upcoming spring season. Make time to take in all the beauty that God has given us and be renewed in Him.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Jesus is our hope.
When we put our hope and have faith in Him, He renews our strength.
