Recently we have been doing some renovations in our home.
It has been a long process because we have done it ourselves and in steps. We are coming to the end of our renovations now, and I am getting really excited to see the finished product. When I step back and look at the before and after pictures, I am proud of what we have accomplished.
All of this has made me stop and think about how God feels when we get saved and allow Him to transform our lives to live for Him. Through our relationship with Him, He begins a renovation in our life and heart that will last forever. Although the difference between the change in our lives to live for Christ and us doing home renovations is that there is never really an end to our spiritual transformation. When we live for Jesus, it is a never-ending process.
I know I have had times when I am not “ALL IN” and I find excuses for when I skip my daily time with Him. That’s when I start to feel that something is missing and I know I need to get back in the swing of things, back to putting Him first. It is so easy in today’s world to get caught up in all of the busyness that life throws at us. But I am so thankful that God will never leave us; He is always there to guide us.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
I can only imagine how proud God is of us when He looks down and sees the transformation (renovation) in our life. Life continually changes from day to day and year to year but the one constant we have is God and His Word.
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” Isaiah 40:8
