Hello LifePoint Church family,

I truly hope you are doing well and continuing to grow in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Kevin says it often – “Jesus love you like crazy” and it is so true. This past weekend we were blessed by seeing twelve people make their public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior by getting baptized. It was an incredible blessing for all in attendance to see this happen and to hear what God has done and is doing in their lives. Below are the testimonies we heard. I know that you will be blessed as you take a few minutes to reach each of their stories.

“Last year Mema and I were reading about salvation in my AWANA T+T book.  So, I asked her to teach me about salvation.  Then I asked Jesus to save me and come into my life. And now I go to church for a different reason than to get a piece of candy.”

“I accepted Jesus as my savior a while ago but didn’t get baptized cause I was scared to stand in front of people. I’m still scared to stand in front of people but I’m not scared to say Jesus is my savior.”

“I put my trust in God. I’m proud to say Jesus is my savior. One day we’ll have a big party in heaven.”

“When I was 11 years old I was attending AWANA. At the end of the bible study one night I was asked if I would like to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I said yes and trusted Him then. Since then I have grown closer with my faith and trusting Jesus.”

“I spent my youth in a different religion but during my High School years, I started attending church and was moved by the pastor’s message. It was then that I accepted Christ into my life. I am excited to profess my faith here and now.”

“Since giving my life to the Lord years ago, everything has changed. I thought a light would shine down on me or something like that when I started this journey with Jesus, but that didn’t happen. Instead, I began to witness how He was working in my heart and in my life each day. I think that shocked me more than a light from heaven would’ve. I’ve learned He’s in the business of changing hearts – not waiting to shine spotlights on us. The bible says ‘And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized…’ And I’m doing that today because to be known and loved by Him is the greatest gift I’ve ever received.”

“I’m 11 years old and I have been coming to LifePoint Church since I was born. I grew up learning about God in church, at Awana and at home. I accepted Christ as my savior when I was 7 years old. I want to be baptized so I can let everyone know that I love and trust God.”

“I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was about 10 years old. I want to get baptized so that I can feel closer to Him, and to show other people that I am going to heaven.”

“I chose the wrong path in life when I was a kid but now that I have accepted our Lord Jesus Christ in my life I feel fulfilled with His love and guidance.  I no longer feel alone and I have found that God is good when I open up and let him guide my life. He fills me with His love and faith.”

“After my wife passed away in Feb. of 2019 I started making very bad decisions. Then God brought a friend into my life who started telling me about Jesus. It was about a year ago that I trusted Him as my Savior and I know the has saved me and will keep me.”

“In September 2019, my sister introduced me to celebrate recovery. The following Sunday I started going with her to LifePoint Church. What a revelation! It opened my eyes and heart to God and faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior. Now I spend at least an hour a day reading the Bible, a few devotionals, and talking with God. LifePoint church has saved my life.”

“I was forgiven my sin and given new life in Christ. I surrender all my plans and hopes to Him, to live for His glory and not for self, but to give to others.”

I don’t know if Covid-19 has you discouraged or not, but I pray that The Holy Spirit of God will use the testimonies you just read to encourage you and challenge you to keep your eyes on Jesus and your heart in His Word daily. Times are challenging and difficult but God is still moving in hearts. People are turning to Jesus Christ in faith, lives are being changed, and God’s grace is still the most powerful thing on earth.

And by the way, the testimonies that confessed being scared and being proud to say that Jesus is her Savior are from two eight-year-old sisters.  So, if you haven’t been baptized yet, what’s stopping you? If these eight-year-old girls can proudly stand for Jesus, you can too! Our next baptism will be on Sunday, September 27.
